After about 15 years of refusing to eat a smoothie, I caved! What was my problem?! Why the refusal? Well for one thing when smoothies first became popular I was 20 years old and lets just say that eating right was not on the agenda. I ate horrible food in college, and in the morning I chose to have a 700 calorie caramel mocha-something or other from Starbucks not a healthy smoothie. Fast forward a whole 15 years and here I am! I made this Blueberry Banana Smoothie with Chia Seeds and it knocked my socks off! Wow, what I dummy I’ve been all these years. These things are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
This Blueberry Banana Smoothie isn’t unique at all -it’s basic; blueberries, bananas, some low-fat milk with some chia seeds. I made the same smoothie except traded the blueberries for some strawberries, same great result! For those of you that have made smoothies for that last 20 years you may just want to stop reading and check back at the end of the week for another recipe.
