Cabin fever is in full gear over at my house. School was canceled again today, and it’s 19 degrees so forget about the kids playing outside. Plus did I mention that 2 out of 3 kids are sick?

I’m day dreaming big time…green grass, planting flowers while the kids frolic in the backyard. Picnic lunches, bike rids, lounging outside in my lawnchair, glass of wine in hand..

Since this is all a dream, lets get back to cold reality and eat some pasta! Pasta with Peas and Ham, perfect for a meal or a side dish! And to further lift those winter time blues my blogging buddies and I have an awesome giveaway!

Wooo hooo! It might snow! Okay, so it will only be a 1/2 of an inch followed by a lot of treacherous ice but where I live this is a big deal. My 6-year-old gets out of school at noon today even though the “wintry mix” isn’t supposed to start until tonight. I know this must seem crazy to everyone up north but people just freak out down south when it comes to winter weather. In order to celebrate this weather event {yes, that’s what we call bad weather, “events”}, I figured I would bake some sweet and yummy Marbled Chocolate Banana Bread.

These cut-out cookies are my Grandma’s recipe. Every Christmas my Grandma and my Mom made these cookies for Christmas and then lathered on this very sweet white frosting and coated them with Christmas Sprinkles. I decided to to switch things up a bit since Christmas is over because my desire for these cookies is year round!
